Worldwide Mortality Insurance Cover up to USD$100,000.00
Extreme Sports Extreme Adventures Extreme Activities Extreme Lifestyles
» Think you’re covered under your life insurance policy?
» Think you’re covered under your travel insurance policy?
» Think you’re covered under someone else’s insurance policy?
Think again, because most likely your not!
Finding insurance to cover you for extreme activities can be difficult at the best of times, that’s because insurance companies are by their very nature conservative organisations; they hate it when you do anything risky.
But, getting your adrenaline pumping by doing something you really want to do doesn’t mean you have to risk everything.
Mortality Insurance (also called accidental death insurance) is one way you can get peace of mind that those who depend on you will at least have some financial security if you were to suffer a fatality while taking part in your adrenaline filled pastime. That’s sort of a nice way of saying….if you die from it.
Mortality Insurance covers you for death as a direct consequence of an accident which causes a fatal injury while you’re taking part in an insured ‘extreme activity, whether it’s an organised sport, a hobby, solo activity, pastime or a one-off thing on a day out, or while on holiday.
Our Mortality Insurance product can help fill the gap left by exclusions in you current life insurance policy; and/or for that matter if you’re travelling on a holiday abroad your travel insurance will also most likely have restrictions on the types of activities covered.
This is sometimes called ‘Activity Top Up Insurance’.
Here are some examples of the types of extreme sports & activities not usually covered under ordinary life insurance and travel insurance policies:-
- Off to Russia to fly a Mig Jet…….doubt your life insurance has that included;
- Trekking in Nepal? .. unlikely if you’re going off the beaten - is there any other type of track?
- Climbing a Mountain in the Himalayas?…..no way will your travel or life policy be on risk for that;
- Heli-Skiing in remote virgin snow?…..(how cool is that!) but, your life insurer thinks you’re nuts;
- Learning to fly?….nup, no way, life insurers hate flying …if humans were meant to fly etc’…
It doesn’t matter if you don’t have life insurance cover because our Extreme Lifestyles Insurance product can be purchased for a one off specific event; or in segments of cover to suit your needs.
Periods of Cover are available for:-
» 1 Day (24 hours)
» 1 Week (7 days)
» 1 Month (up to 31 days)
» Up to 3 Months (up to 93 days)
Note: The underwriter will consider providing longer periods of coverage; and/or extending any existing coverage period upon further application.
The Key Element of the Cover
Our Mortality Insurance product is a very simple insurance cover – in a nut-shell, it pays if you die from injury caused by an accidental sustained in the course of the insured extreme activity.
It doesn’t cover or pay for anything else but, there are a few additional benefits included in the coverage worth knowing about; there are some exclusions which apply as well.
Death from illness is not covered, but some specific limited conditions (described in the policy) are covered such as hypothermia; if hypothermia sets in and results in your death due to your physical immobility caused by an injury arising from a covered accident. (for instance, you’re mountaineering, fall down a crevasse and break your leg and as a result can not get help and thus perish from the effects)
- Death caused by a wild animal; is covered – (attacked by a grizzly bear for instance while hiking in the wilderness)
- Death caused by snake bite or from some other type of venomous creature or insect, providing that death is caused within 7 days of the bite.
- But, death from Malaria, whether from the bite of a Mosquito or howsoever otherwise infected is not covered.
- Suicide, intentional self harm, non-disclosure of relevant facts, mental illness, preexisting medical conditions, intentional recklessness and substance abuse are all things which are excluded under the terms of the policy. (intentional recklessness means not taking reasonable precautions, for instance racing a bike without a helmet and subsequently dying from head injuries caused in an accident)
